Feeding the communities
Agriculture has become an important project scope for Top-Help, one that seeks to build capacity for affected communities to self sustain and enhance their livelihoods. The project will run on three parcels of land in different areas, which will be cultivated to produce maize, beans and other essential vegetables to supply to our Children Centres in the areas, and the community as well.
The three parcel include Oyugis (2 acres) that has been purchased, Kanyimach (1 acre) that will be leased for 5 years, and Lwala farm (6 acres).
The farms will also form a platform to help community members build farming systems that help them feed their families as well as enable smallholder farmers to achieve a decent standard of living, whilst protecting the environment and building natural resources.
